We get asked this a lot. Why we don’t do business pitch decks? Why are we not just doing a free consultation? The answer is simple: we are focused on solving a problem and that’s not just about us. We aim to understand the brief and find the best solution for our clients. Not because we think it’s great for them (we don’t), but because that’s what our clients need.
We, CR8 Consultancy really believe in long-term relationships with our clients. As a branding agency with more than 8 years of expertise, we have made it a routine to pitch clients in order to close deals. Don’t get us wrong; we still pitch, but we could be picky.
Our expertise is based on 8 years of working with independent businesses and we believe providing this service should result in a partnership which is mutually beneficial for both parties. We work on an exclusive basis which means we will not just assume it is our turn to work on your projects (which can be quite stressful), as they are ours too.
Definition of pitching
Let’s recognize the meaning of “pitching” once more. A pitch is a sort of slow dance and we’ve got two left feet! It is a presentation of your branding and marketing plan that you can use to attract potential investors in order to obtain income. The pitch aids you in educating investors about your company so they can make the best decisions.
Why we don’t do business pitch decks?
1. We can only help you to understand the best solution by asking a lot of questions first.
We can only help you to understand the best solution by asking a lot of questions first. When working with a client, we take their needs and objectives as seriously as they do. We don’t just want to pitch and offload a solution in 60 seconds. The goal is to understand the problem, and then pitch the best possible solution on how we can help (which usually consists of more than one of us).
2. We’d rather be working for you than pitching for you.
Our next reason is that we don’t find out about your product and service before our agency decision-making process. This might be because especially new startups are completely new to us and haven’t put any thought into it yet, or it could mean you are somehow so far down the product creation pipeline that we don’t even know what you do yet — which is perfectly fine by us.
3. We don’t charge for our thinking, we charge for its implementation.
Another reason why we don’t like pitching: we prefer to work as strategic partners for our clients. We would rather spend time with you getting to know your business and learning about your challenges, and developing a plan that directly addresses those problems than just come in and make some pretty pictures.
4. It is a time-consuming task
Creating a pitching presentation can be a time-consuming task, especially if you’re working on a tight deadline. It’s important to manage your time wisely when creating a pitching presentation so that you don’t end up overburdening your team. Not only does it add more work for you and your team, but it can also be a source of stress if not done correctly in the end.
Conclusion
Now you know why we don’t pitch. We don’t pitch unless it’s a project that we really want to win. We believe that the best work can happen when we are not focused on the prospect because we can stay true to our brand. We don’t want to just be a commodity and create the same solutions as everyone else, but instead, really help you understand your unique challenges and constraints and apply our expertise to give you efficient solutions.
If we can do that, then that’s great and if people want us to make them something similar we will, of course, but we may decide it’s not worth our time. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all—it just makes us different!
